Detroit Bros. Custom Cycles was started in 2002 by Dave and James Kaye. Their mission is to build totally unique motorcycles that focus on the mechanical and subversive, while bucking the trend of homogenous mass-produced choppers. Their designs are reflective of the city of Detroit; classically styled, yet technologically progressive. Each bike they build is a one off endeavor, and is approached as not only a motorcycle, but as a rolling piece of art.

James Kaye was classically trained as a metal sculptor at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI. He has worked for the great Ron Finch, and the not so great Russell Mitchells. Dave Kaye graduated from the University of Michigan Business School with a degree in Finance and worked on the Chicago Board Options Exchange as an equity options market maker.

They have been featured on the Discovery Channel on two episodes of Great Biker Build Off, in countless magazines such as Barnett’s, Cycle Source, Street Chopper, etc and are regarded internationally in the custom motorcycle world as innovators and artists. Love them or hate them, their bikes are unmistakably Detroit Bros.
