So I got a package on Friday, and what doth I find in said package you might ask. Well I’ll tell you friend. It’s an Icon Death or Glory Airframe helmet.
Now you might be asking why did Icon send me a new helmet? Well again I will tell you. Because Icon is fucking dope that’s why!

Bell is now making an actual DOT compliant version of that helmet that you and all your trendy friends are sporting. After seeing what a low speed accident did to my vintage piece I think it’s time to upgrade. I mean at prices like $139 you cant go wrong. You can get a cheap, falling apart vintage lid that the liner falls out in tiny black crummy piece at a time, or one of the novelty deals that those cheap parts guys sell because they know you want cheap trendy shit. Or you can get something that actually works and is made by the people who started this whole modern helmet thing and is DOT compliant for just a little more than those other guys are charging for “novelty” helmets. So, yeah… nobody wants to buy my split rocker boxes, so I guess ya’ll’er gonna force to go and build a bike out of them. Challenge accepted. Challenge fucking accepted.
Got a 21″ x 1.5″ rim from the Belgians, spoked up with a mini hub from JR’s Cycles. They also provided the tree, but I think I’m gonna use the Showa trees I’ve got… Gonna frisco mount that 1976 anniversary sporty tank (don’t worry Carlos – just using this one for mock up).
Real skinny. May even do a bitch pad for der Wiffen… we’ll see.
